Being with the one you love on a sandy beach with waves crashing in the distance conjures up fairy tale romance at its best. Amelia Island beach weddings are as close to perfect as you can get. Here are some tips to help make your beach wedding on Amelia Island even more perfect. PERMITS There is no permit required to have your own beach wedding on Amelia Island. Just choose your public beach access point (over 40 to choose from). SEA TURTLES MAY BE JOINING YOU Sea turtles nest between May 1st and October 31st on our beaches. During this season, lighting and flash photography is not allowed pre-dawn or post-dusk on the beach. THINGS TO CONSIDER Leashed pets are allowed on the beaches of Amelia Island, but must be picked up after. Consider substituting bird seed for rice. Marriage licenses are issued by the Nassau County Clerk of Courts. The following items are not allowed on Amelia Island beaches: Balloons String Alcohol Open Flame (cooking is not allowed on the beach)
